The Jadeite (one highly valued form of Jade) is being bought and locked into secure vaults, where it will underpin the value of tokens and NFT’s on the Jade City platform.

Jade Vault is the UK-based Company who are building and providing the inventory of processed (and ethically sourced) Jadeite.

The platform is also offering the opportunity to purchase Jade products as NFTs, where you have the option to receive the physical item, providing an authentication method and provenance solution to an industry that is saturated with products pretending to be real.

Jade City is presently in an early stage of development and aims to go live in Q2 2024.

As Jade City grows it will evolve into an entire blockchain-powered Jadeite Economy.

Jade City will be the first platform where Jadeite can not only be safely traded and stored, but users will also be able to earn, play, and shop using tokenised physical Jadeite while also taking part in the governance of the virtual City.

In order to gain access to Jade City and all the future benefits, citizenship must also be obtained through ownership of a Jadeite Tribe NFT.

Markets may be ‘knocking’ crypto just now, but by using crypto as an engine to incentivise the building of a world-spanning radio network, a US start-up called Helium, recently renamed Nova Labs, has now enabled a ‘use-case’ tracking system, Trackpac, that beats all others ‘hands-down’ – like Wikipedia it improves over time and just maybe an asset tracking DAO might appear down the line.

In two years, uber-smart engineers (Neil + Rob) have designed Trackpac to deliver a new tracking technology, at a fraction of the cost for the typical GPS and GSM combo, and all available online.

How? Well, first Helium created the world’s largest ubiquitous wireless network. Then Trackpac realised that tracking anything and everything over Helium’s soon-to-be 1 million nodes was suddenly possible. Because you don’t see the nodes on every street corner you may not know that many thousands of these little black boxes are installed on numerous buildings across the world, all connected to the internet.

Householders and building-owners are continuously investing to grow the network by adding nodes and aerials which all data starts to travel through ‘your infrastructure’. Just as armies of ants move greenery, leaf-by-leaf, in the Amazon, the Helium Community, in two years, has created a network that would take a global telco over two decades to assemble.

If you want to geek out on this and really understand it @tushajain covers it elegantly. You can see that big bets have been placed on the new horizon and the opportunities that blockchain offers. Anything that offers lower cost and better service will always win-out long-term.

Many early B2B users have designed complex on-boarding systems and technical interfaces, but with Trackpac, a simple scan of a QR code and your mobile or web app is tracking your LoRa tracker wherever it might go.

In a way, the Helium Community, who are part extremely-technical and part crypto-hopeful, have acted as a perfect on-ramp for asset tracking and IoT in general. They want to bring data to the network to support their HNT Tokens that fuel the Helium network. Crypto is incentivising people to bring more things, or dare I say everything, online. Perhaps like the root systems of the Amazon, everything is connected and connectable through the Helium network.

In a technical world where there have been many runners and fallers, Helium has real-world business potential based on the lowest-cost operation of a robust network that will deliver total track-ability and the Internet of Things.

We also produced a new format for our course materials, pictured below! Now resembling more of a text-book we’ve packed in the course content so our students can follow along, complete tasks at the end of each module and take away a valuable resource.

The bootcamp was at the Lansdowne Club in Mayfair for the third month running, which provides a wonderfully central location and facilities for the bootcamp.

Here is our lead tutor William presenting, and computer research tasks follow at the end of every module for students to put into practice their new skills.

Our team is also on-hand to help with any technicalities and help everyone through the tasks.

Below you can see a live feed of data on the Bitcoin blocks which we use on one of the activities. Understanding the blockchain is one of the fundamental parts of the course and an invaluable skill to take away.

The bootcamp also introduces you to exchanges, how they work and how to trade. If you go on to investing in cryptocurrencies you will need to know how to onboard currency into various exchanges.

We go through the charts, trading pairs, market orders and limit orders. Students on the bootcamp then get the opportunity to set up their own accounts.

One of the final modules on the course introduces you to NFT’s.

After a presentation on the theory, the use-cases and the inspiring future we dive into trading. Here is a photo of our students choosing a Revv Racing car on OpenSea to use in a live blockchain racing game.

At the end of the bootcamp students also get to mint a free NFT to their brand new crypto wallets, created earlier on the course.

This is a special kind of NFT called a POAP, which stands for Proof Of Attendance Protocol. POAP’s will live on the blockchain as a permanent record of the events you attended.

Our courses are designed to initially give beginners in crypto an understanding of the underlying technology. We believe this lays the framework for why blockchains will shape the future of technology across many industries.

Understanding how these innovations apply to the real world is important for seeing the potential of cryptocurrencies, and getting motivated to invest your time and energy in the space.

Two of the main challenges we identified in crypto education were the niche vocabulary and specialist concepts, far beyond the general knowledge required to enter the space – even off-putting to a complete beginner. A great example is the common explanation of blockchain as ‘a trustless, permissonless, decentralised ledger’. Our approach is to break down these concepts into things people can understand.

From there, we can put the theory into practice.

Equipped with how and why a blockchain works, our bootcamp moves through a series of modules and practical exercises. This rapidly grows your exposure to the wide variety of subjects in the space and gives you a crash course in skills required to interact with it.

However not everyone has a helping hand and it’s a complicated landscape to a beginner. The majority of people entering the market will most likely be unaware of how you can easily fall prey to a number of scams in the space, so I’m going to write up some of the common scams, and how to avoid them.

Also a key thing to remember about all blockchain technology is all transactions are recorded and publicly visible. This means if you find yourself in a situation where you don’t know what happened to your coins, whether you’ve been targeted by a scam, or made a mistake in transferring your tokens, there will be a record which can be analysed. This may help you recover any lost funds.

1. Look after your Private Keys

Whenever you set up a new wallet you will receive the Public Key and the Private Key, or potentially another security measure such as a Keystore File. The Private Key can restore your wallet to another location giving a potential scammer access to your account. Scammers will take advantage of your lack of knowledge as a beginner and try to manipulate you into giving up this information.

Your Public Key is the address of your wallet and this one is safe to share. The similarity in their names can lead to confusion so be very careful about which information you share with others.

2. Impersonations

There are a lot of big influencers in the crypto space. Scammers will impersonate them and interact with you to try and lure you in.

As a general rule of thumb, anyone who contacts you directly over Twitter, YouTube or a Messaging App is most likely not trustworthy. Especially if they appear as a noteworthy influencer. Check URL’s and account handles carefully and never send any personal or account information.

3. Scammers sending you tokens or fake accounts

A common scam is to deposit either a token to your wallet, or send you the seed phrase/private key to another account. Be extremely cautious interacting with anything you don’t recognise, especially if it appears too good to be true. In the crypto world it 100% will be.

A similar method to steal your tokens is when you ‘authorise’ an application to spend tokens from a wallet such as MetaMask. Always read the description in your wallet if you are ‘signing’ a transaction and be very careful about which websites you do this on.

4. Phishing on fake websites

Scammers will create a website which looks identical to the real thing, but the domain will be very slightly different and this is something that can easily missed. Alternatively websites can be created which appear to represent a crypto project but are just a scam. For example when a new token is due to be released, scammers can set up a website all about the drop and even pay to advertise it on Google making it appear at the top of the search listings.

Unsuspecting investors can easily end up on these fake websites and end up sending funds to an address where you will hear nothing back. This is a great reason to use InCrypto Hub to navigate to official project websites. Otherwise check CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap to find official token information and social media accounts.

5. Rug Pulls and Manipulation

There are a number of warning signs with young projects with low liquidity, low market caps, anonymous teams and a low distribution of tokens. New tokens will be launched into the market designed to attract investors, only for the team to steal investor funds or crash the price by selling a large proportion of the supply.

These projects can appear very convincing at first and even be hyped up by the community as people get excited about being early investors. Be sure to spend some time researching the project to form your own opinion and always be cautious as some projects come with a much, much higher risk of losing everything.

Occasionally you may feel like you’re stuck in limbo with MetaMask. You submitted a transaction and it says waiting or pending and nothing seems to happen. You may have tried to cancel the transaction and now it’s pending a cancellation as well.

This can happen for a number of reasons. Your MetaMask wallet will queue up transactions and if something fails due to a price movement or communication error, you may simply get into a backlog of requests.

So how do you reset MetaMask after your transactions fail to process?

1. Go into your Settings by selecting your Account button in the top right
2. Then select Advanced
3. Scroll down to Reset Account and select the button
4. Confirm in the popup

If you navigate back to the main screen of your wallet and select the Activity tab it should be totally clear. Now you can attempt to process the transaction and it should go through successfully.
